Yankee Casting specializes in aluminum, bronze, and magnesium sand castings.  Sand castings are made by pouring molten metal into a sand mold.  The metal solidifies and the sand is removed.  The  resulting metal shape is the casting.  To the right is a photo of how internal passageways are made.
